Testicular sperm extraction
Description
Surgeon extracting sperm from a patient's testicle using a thin syringe. Sperm may be extracted in this way for use in in vitro fertilisation, especially in the technique of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), in which a single sperm cell is injected directly into an egg cell. The procedure may be used when the man cannot produce sperm by ejaculation, for instance post-vasectomy.
