Caesarean section delivery. A Caesarean section is a method of delivering a baby when a natural birth is not possible or would cause complications. An incision is made in the abdomen and then the wall of the uterus (womb). In the uterus, the foetus is surrounded in amniotic fluid, which is seen erupting from the incision when the uterus is cut. The baby is then removed.
